21-Year-Old Nabbed For Westport Hit-Run: Police

A young Connecticut woman has been arrested for a hit-and-run that she committed over a month before, police announced.

The Fairfield County crash happened on Saturday, Nov. 25 in Westport, according to the town’s police department.

At approximately 8:15 p.m. that day, Alexandra Hamer, age 21, of Westport, was involved in the incident on Saugatuck Avenue near I-95, police said.

Though she fled the scene, an investigator was able to obtain dashcam footage of the crash, which allegedly confirmed that she was the perpetrator.

A warrant for Hamer’s arrest was issued on Saturday, Dec. 23, and she turned herself in.

Hamer was charged with:

  • Failure to drive in the proper lane;
  • Failure to comply with pass-on-right rules; and
  • Evading responsibility (hit-and-run).

She was released after posting bond and is due to appear at Stamford Superior Court on Friday, Jan. 12.

Additional details regarding the crash, including any injuries or the events leading up to the incident, were not released.
